Privacy Policy

Who we are

This website (ramentales.gr) is operated by Soup for the Soul IKE, Al. Svolou 16, Thessaloniki, Greece, VAT/ΑΦΜ 801787338 ("Ramen Tales", "we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described below.

What data we collect, and why

1. Reservations. When you book a table, you're taken to our reservations partner, i-host.gr, which collects and processes your booking details (name, contact info, party size, date/time) under its own privacy terms. We do not receive or store your reservation data ourselves beyond what i-host shares with us to run the restaurant. We recommend reviewing i-host's own privacy policy, available on their website, before booking.

2. Event notifications ("Notify me"). If you opt in on our Events page, we store your email address to send you an automatic email whenever we publish a new event, pop-up, or limited menu, together with a link to book. If you've opted in, you may also receive a reminder email approximately 7 days before an event you were notified about, so you don't miss the booking window. We keep your email until you unsubscribe — every notification and reminder email includes an unsubscribe link. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

3. Website analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site (pages viewed, general location, device type). This involves cookies. We only load analytics cookies after you consent via our cookie banner. Legal basis: consent.

4. Advertising. We use Google Ads for remarketing and campaign measurement. This involves advertising cookies, loaded only after you consent via our cookie banner. Legal basis: consent.

5. Language preference. Your EN/GR language choice is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and never sent to our servers. This is not personal data and requires no consent.

We do not operate a contact form or general newsletter on this site.

Who we share data with

—i-host.gr — reservations (see above; they act as an independent controller for booking data).
—Supabase — hosts our website content and the notify-me email list, as our data processor. Our Supabase project is hosted in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany).
—Google (Analytics, Ads) — as our data processor/controller depending on feature, per Google's own privacy terms, only after cookie consent.

International transfers

Our website content and the notify-me email list are stored with Supabase in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany), so no international transfer applies to that data. Google (Analytics, Ads) may process data outside the European Economic Area as part of its global infrastructure; Google relies on recognised safeguards for such transfers, including the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. i-host.gr's data handling is governed by its own privacy policy.

How long we keep data

—Notify-me emails: until you unsubscribe.
—Analytics data: per Google Analytics' standard retention settings.
—Reservation data: governed by i-host.gr's own retention policy.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time (this won't affect processing already carried out). To exercise these rights, contact us at ramentales@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Greek Data Protection Authority (Αρχή Προστασίας Δεδομένων Προσωπικού Χαρακτήρα, www.dpa.gr).
